Women Empowerment
Rural woman’s life is full of hardships: water collection, farming, home making. Her health is neglected and can not share her problems with family so easily. She is Financially dependent on husband & plays no role in decision making. She doesn’t have a platform to share problems & seek solutions.
In 2008 Self Help Group’s (SHG) were established in several villages. Today there are 62 SHG’s in 27 villages with 1054 members. Monthly meetings are held in different clusters to discuss individual or social problems & find solutions. Loans disbursed at nominal interest for medical emergencies, house repairs, marriages etc. Training is imparted to 375 women on Tailoring, Bag & Quilt making, Beauty course, Food preservation etc. Events, Celebrations, Workshops, Competitions are held on several occasions.
Annual borrowing & lending transactions exceed Rs. 20,00,000. Women are out of money lenders trap. During Health camps cases of Cancer & TB detected & treated. Substantial Sale of handmade products & food stuff is achieved in Exhibitions & fairs thus generating regular income generation for some Women.
